**Include a change of clothes, vital toiletries, and any medication in a carry on bag in case your luggage is lost or arrives late.

Please do not come without:
- Debit/credit card – ATM machines are the best way to access Guatemalan currency
- Health insurance card/information
- Passport & a photocopy of your passport
- Prescription medicines
- Extra glasses and/or contacts and contact lens solution and case
- Water bottle
- Notebook and pens
- Alarm clock and/or watch
- Sunscreen
- Insect repellant
Also Recommended:
- Smaller overnight travel bag for trip outside of Guatemala City
- Compact umbrella or other rain gear
- Non-prescription meds such as Tylenol, Tums, chewable Pepto Bismal tablets, etc. (Pharmacies in Guatemala are prevalent and well-stocked but best to come prepared.) Definitely bring Dramamine if you are prone to motion sickness.
- Hand sanitizer/hand-wipes
- Pocket packs of tissue paper
- Small flashlight
- Camera, charger, & memory cards
- Your favorite non-perishable snacks- especially important if you have dietary restrictions
- Small Spanish dictionary or phrase book
- A book
- Money belt or neck pouch that goes under clothes to carry cash, credit cards and passport

*Note: GHRC will have a first-aid kit at all times
